Biography:
Janet Castiel has been a Personal Manager for performing artists, and a Marketing Executive in the music industry for the past 30 years. Although she grew up in the U.S. in a “show business family,” her own business experience began in Madrid, Spain in the mid-1970s. After having graduated from Vassar College in the United States, she lived in Europe for many years where she worked for the Theatrical Agency, Espectaculos Internacionales Francisco Bermudez buying talent from around the world for performance in Europe. Janet moved back to New York and founded Redwood Entertainment, Inc. in 1983. Redwood’s mission in personal management is to comprehensively spear-head marketing efforts for all aspects of its clients’ careers.
Over the years, Janet Castiel’s management clients have included Chuck Jackson; the Main Ingredient; Annie Haslam and others. She has worked with the Broadway Kids, Eden Riegel (Emmy Award winner, All My Children,) and other actors and actresses. Many of the current Redwood artists are SAG, AFTRA and Equity actors and actresses who are broadening their careers. Additionally Janet and Redwood Entertainment serve as management for comedy and musical artists such as: Michele Balan; David Bennett Cohen (original member of Country Joe & The Fish); John Tropea; Musique; Ken Williams (Grammy Award Winning songwriter,) to name a few. Janet Castiel and her company Redwood Entertainment, Inc. serves as US representative and American Management for several major foreign acts that include Painted on Water featuring Sertab Erener & Demir Demirkan (Eurovision winners); Sezen Aksu; Fahir Atakoglu (Number 1 charting composer/musician on the JazzWeek World Charts); Luthea Salom; Demian Dominguez; and Pierre Sibille.
Janet Castiel’s professional affiliations include: New York Blues & Jazz Society – Co-Founder & Board of Directors; NARAS-Voting Member; and the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP)-Member.
