The Talent Managers Association will host the 7th Annual Seymour Heller Awards for excellence in management and distinguished individuals who respect the field of Talent Management on Tuesday evening September 23, 2008. The event will be held at The Sportsmen’s Lodge, 12833 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, CA 91604.
These annual awards celebrate the profession of management and Seymour Heller in particular. Seymour Heller was a co-founder of the National Conference of Personal Managers and remained active in the Talent Managers Association until he died of natural causes on October 8, 2001. He helped shape the profession of talent management for more than 6 decades. Among his most famous clients were Liberace, Lawrence Welk, Ginger Rogers, Debbie Reynolds and Regis Philbin. This year the Prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in Talent Management will be given posthumously to Seymour Heller.
The awards include TMA Manager of the Year, Youth and Adult Commercial Agent of the Year, Youth and Adult Theatrical Agent of the Year, Associate Casting Director of the Year,Commercial Casting Director of the Year, Television Casting Director of the Year and Film Casting Director of the Year. And this the year the very first Pat McQueeney Award for outstanding service to the TMA will be given
